More than two decades ago in a Queens basement, Madonna recorded music that’s never before been released. Listen to it in a Daily Beast exclusive by Andrew Morton.

Madonna biographer Andrew Morton offers a previously unreleased tape that includes Madonna singing some of the first ever songs she wrote. The tape was made by Ed Gilroy and his brother Dan, Madonna’s ex-boyfriend, who lived with the singer in the basement of a Queens synagogue.

The lost tapes begins with Madonna and Dan in bed. She’s encouraging him to go running. It then cuts to her speech where Madonna says how she was fortunate to have people like Dan Gilroy who believed in her. Then flashback back 27 years…. ‘I’m going to strangle him,’ she joked before breaking out into one of the songs, ‘Born to be a Dancer.’

Min vän sedan gymnasiet har en ganska underhållande blogg där hon bokför sina skandalösa äventyr. Igår var hon backstage på en nattklubb i Norrköping där reggaebandet Inner Circle uppträdde (de hade sin största hit med Sweat - A la la la la long) och rapporterade om det exentriska mötet på sin blogg:

“En av bandmedlemmarna började skriva autografer över min systers kropp, och när han böjde sig fram mot mig för att skriva på mig med, bad jag honom om tuschpennan. Han räckte mig den, och då skrev jag istället min autograf på hans arm. Alla i bandet applåderade.

Jag kände att jag inte riktigt var på topp, och hade ingen större lust att umgås med bandet, så jag började hälla i mig av gratisdrickat istället.
Då bad en i bandet mig att hälsa på sångaren. Även han såg ut att vantrivas lite grann, så jag tänkte: What the fuck, lika barn leka bäst. Så jag gick fram och hälsade.

Jag anklagade honom för att sjunga om analsex i låten Sweat (A la la long), där han sjunger:
“I look into your big brown eye…”
“Girl I want to make you sweat…”
“And if you cry out, I’m gonna push it some more….”

Och nu är sångaren helt förlorad i mig.

Efterfesten skulle hållas på hotellet. Sångaren bad mig att komma dit, och syster var på idén. Jag sa att jag kunde komma, men att det sista som skulle hända var att vi skulle ha sex, för jag är ingen jävla groupie, jag ville bara festa. Han lovade att inte röra mig, och han sa att han skulle stå och vänta på mig utanför hotellet, medan jag och syster hämtade våra jackor.

Det tog mig och henne över 40 minuter innan vi ens kom ut från nattklubben. Och då var han borta. Men en av dom andra killarna kom och såg oss, och snart var jag och sångaren återförenade. Han hade frusit halvt ihjäl medan han väntade, så han hade gett upp hoppet och gått in.

Jag var svintrött, så jag dök ner i hans säng och hann nästan slockna direkt, medan syrran festade i rummet intill. Men så ringde hon efter 5 minuter och ville att vi skulle dra hem, så jag satte mig upp och drog på skorna igen.
Sångaren blev helt bedrövad och bad mig stanna, men jag vägrade. Han sa att han var förlorad i mig, och inte ville att jag skulle försvinna. Så jag sa åt honom att hänga på hem till mig istället. Så även han slängde på sig kläderna och följde med hem till mig.

Hemma hos mig kollade han på mina tavlor, och blev bara mer och mer kär i mig. Han förklarade hur vacker jag var och bla bla bla osv, och ju mer han lärde känna mig, desto mer vacker och oemotståndlig blev jag tydligen.
Jag förstår inte alls vad han menade, för allt jag gjorde var att spela dryg och rapa. Och det bästa av allt:

När jag drog fram madrassen, tog jag i så mycket att jag släppte mig. Det blev helt tyst i rummet.

- Did you just hear me fart?
- Eh…. Yeah…

Varpå vi båda nästan dog av skratt.
Och resten av natten låg vi och skämtade och skrattade och hittade på olika roliga historier om min ohejdbara fis.”

The new face-lift trend revealed. And it’s the face of a baby’s.

A month ago – I read this article from New York magazine, about the new face-lift trend - the so called new new face. And the article was so interesting that I couldn’t get it out of my mind.

What is the New New Face?
The secret flesh sculptor of this new art is - plastic surgent Dr. David Rosenberg, based in New York. This guy have a lot of celebrity patients, Madonna is supposed to be one of his latest miracles. The key to his technique — what is reffered as “new new face” — is not the old stretching upward of the entire facial skin, but instead an under-skin lifting of the muscles of the lower face, preserving essential facial “architecture.” A regimen of injections of fat and collagen supplements this work by creating the appearance of baby fat (gross). The new new face should not look new. Not face-lifted at all. It should look like you. It should look like the old you.

In these pictures, featured in the article, you can see the distinct difference between the old new face and the new new face (the term new face means you have done a face-lift).

“A woman I have known for many years did something to her face not all that long ago, and for a few weeks afterward, I was not able to put my finger on it. [... ] I cannot say that she looked exactly like her old self—but so close! A fantastic approximation! [...] But there was also a faint likeness to someone else. She looked a little like … Madonna? Strange, I know, since Madonna and my friend have little in common, at least physically. But when I saw the Big Ciccone on the cover of Vanity Fair a couple of months later, I couldn’t help but notice the similarities: the Mount Rushmore cheekbones, the angular jawline, the smoothed forehead, the plumped skin, the heartlike shape of the face. [..] There is a New New Face, very different from the old one, and both my friend and Madonna now have it.”

Isn’t this fascinating? And once you’ve heard about it – you’ll see new new faces everywhere on TV and in magazines. New York magazine went as far as claiming the Olsen twins seem to have a starter version of the new new face.
